I began my self named fashion label at glebe markets in sydney in 2002 while studying fine arts at COFA and needing a little extra money for uni supplies!
I started by screen printing my artwork and illustrations onto tshirts but after buying my first sewing machine the label evolved to what it is now!
the label was featured in fashion magazines such as 'shop til you drop' and 'in style' which led to 'sandy' being stocked in boutiques across australia

In may 2009 I opened my first concept store stocking predominantly my label 'sandy' aswell as a small selection of some of my favourite labels such as
AMILITA, MY SUNDAY FEELING, EMMA MILIKINS, FABLED AND TRUE, THE SHANTI BUTTERFLY, ABLE AND GAME CARDS, SHASAM .
My illustrations, drawings and paintings are themed around storybook whimsey, nostalgia and all things sweet which I screen print onto my signature tees, singlets and hoodies.. Since opening the sandy shop I have extended my label from printed tees and hoodies and am now also producing an extensive range of charm, bead and laser cut jewellery, art cards, and limited run collections of pretty chiffon dresses to winter jackets, skirts, bags, belts and everything in between!! the shop is my playground!
One thing Ive stuck with from the beginning is to keep my label affordable! ranging from $35 tees to $180 one-off handmade silk dresses. The only reason Im able to keep this up is because of all you regulars who have massive 'sandy' wardrobes! The more you buy the more I can make!

I am hands on with absolutely everything!
A normal week for me is a hectic combination of driving far and wide buying fabric, sketching garment ideas, cutting and sizing patterns, dyeing fabrics, screen printing in my garage at home, drawing/painting the artwork for the prints, sourcing bits and pieces for jewellery and putting it all together, glueing rings brooches and stud earrings together, going to the post office with online sale orders, sewing samples and sewing with the two lovely ladies who have been helping me out for 5 years now!..
I dont design seasonal ranges or follow trends, rather I just fill the shop and keep adding new designs as others sell...you will find something new instore every few days!
Luckily I have some amazing ladies who help out in the shop... Kim, Alice and Lindy!
